Last week, there were talks that Google could launch its own smartwatch that would compete with the Apple Watch. It was codenamed “Rohan” with speculation that it was named the ‘Pixel Watch’. But after all the rumors, we finally get a first look at what we can expect from the upcoming Google smartwatch.
Leaks of the watch were revealed by the YouTube channel Front Page Tech, and it shows that the device will indeed be called the Google Pixel Watch. They also did some renders for the device that match exactly what the images show; with a round body, bezel-less display, and a single rotating crown to control the device with.
The Google smartwatch’s initial release was rumored to happen at the same time as the Pixel 6 launch but was delayed to Q1 of 2022 due to chip shortages. As for its software, the Pixel Watch will most likely integrate Wear OS 3 as Google wants to display what Wear OS is capable of with the proper hardware.
Although nothing is confirmed, we can expect an array of features on the Google Pixel Watch, like a heart rate monitor, step counter, fitness tracking, location tracking, and more. However all of this information is merely speculation and leaks, so it’s important to keep an open mind before it’s released; and if you want to keep updated on the Google Pixel Watch, stay tuned for more updates from us.
