Rumours of the successors to Google’s Pixel smartphones have begun leaking this week, and judging from the rumours that circulating on the web, it appears that the second generation phones from Google may come in three flavours instead of just two.

According to a report from Droid Life, sources have mentioned that the Pixel successors are currently codenamed “Muskie” and “Walleye”, which continues Google’s tradition of naming their hardware after aquatic animals. While little in way of specifications have been given about both these phones, sources have mentioned that the “Muskie” is a 5.5″ device while the “Walleye” is a 5″ device.

However, it appears that “Muskie” and “Walleye” will also be accompanied by yet another device codenamed “Taimen”. Little is known about “Taimen” at the moment, but from what the sources are saying, it appears that this device is a smartphone and that it will sport a screen that is larger than both “Muskie” and “Walleye”. Assuming that the phone is part of the Pixel line, it appears that “Taimen” will be the flagship device of the line for this year.
