Firefox is joining the likes of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge in introducing VR support on their web browser. This is the next major update in Firefox with the previous being the speed boost that came in June revamp update. This feature will be available to all HTC Vive and Oculus Rift users on Windows.
Mozilla has been working on this VR feature for quite some time, using WebVR to allow browsers to run VR experiences, but that feature was limited to the Nightly builds of the web browser and was very limited when it came to features. Even if they have introduced the feature now, it is still left behind by other browser options like Chrome who added this feature early this year and also supports HTC Vive and Oculus Rift and in addition to that, Google Cardboard and Google Daydream.
The new Firefox 55 update will also a new tool called Firefox Screenshots which can save screenshots that you have taken to the cloud and copies them to your clipboard. The images will stay in the cloud for two weeks and then they will be deleted unless you change the settings to keep them there longer.
