If you have been searching for an alternative to the 16-inch MacBook Pro, the Dell Inspiron 16 Plus might just be the answer here, as Dell has listed it on its Malaysian website with a starting price of RM5599. Measuring 16.8mm thin, the Inspiron 16 Plus is reasonably lightweight at 2.01kg.
In terms of specs, the Inspiron 16 Plus comes with an Intel Core i5-11400H processor for the based model and users can spec it up to an Intel Core i7-11700H processor, discrete graphics option is offered in GeForce RTX 3050 or RTX 3050Ti, which should be sufficient for most graphics and video editing applications. All configuration models will come standard with 16GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, 512GB of PCIe SSD storage, a 16-inch 3K (3072×1920) non-touch display with 100% sRGB color gamut support, and a 3-cell 56Wh battery.
The Inspiron 16 Plus is generous on ports, as you get two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port with support for USB PD charging, one full-size HDMI 2.0 port and a SD card slot. Cooling wise, it employs two fans and three heat pipes that keeps the system running optimally, while in other regions with a RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, it would use a more powerful cooling solution with three fans and five heat pipes, heat dissipation is the same across the board through for cooling vents on the laptop’s chassis.
Available only in Mist Blue color, Dell is offering a 2-year premium and onsite support service on the Inspiron 16 Plus, the bill goes up to RM6399 when you spec it to the max with the Intel Core i7-11800H processor and GeForce RTX 3050Ti graphics, which is pretty reasonable considering that most 16-inch laptops in the market costs way more and stocks are scarce at this point of time.
