Cooler Master includes PBT keycaps on two new mechanical keyboards

Cooler Master has a pair of keyboards that will fall under the MasterKeys lineup, the MasterKeys L and MasterKey S. What makes these keyboards special is the use of PBT keycaps. The benefits of using these keycaps over the ABS keycaps is that they are more resistant to wear and tear and will not become shiny over time. The only issues with PBT caps are that they are very brittle and is prone to breakage.

In order to combat this issue, Cooler Master has made the keycaps 1.5mm thick, making it twice as thick as ABS keycaps. To give it a more solid feel, the keycaps are injection moulded, double laser-etched, and fibre reinforced, making it resistant to solvents, mechanically strong and will not shine like traditional keycaps overtime. Other than that, the keyboards feature Cherry MX Red switches which are quiet and tactile.

Other than adding a set of seven extra red keycaps to replace the WASD and Q, E and R keys, there is nothing really much that makes the keyboard standout as a gaming keyboard, there are no macro keys but you can switch on-the-fly from QWERTY, Dvorak, or Workrman. The MasterKeys S PBT will retail for $80 and the MasterKeys L PBT will retail for $90, both keyboards will be available at the end of June.
