The wait is finally over, as Apple has unveiled the iPhone Xs and Xs Max with screen sizes of 5.8-inches and 6.5-inches respectively. Powered by the A12 Bionic processor, which consist of a 4-core GPU and 6-core CPU, the iPhone Xs is claimed to have 30% faster app launch speeds and 50% improvements in GPU performance, there’s also an improved two-core neural engine that could process over 5 trillion operations per second.

The iPhone Xs now comes with up to 512GB of storage, hardware improvements include IP68 water and dust resistance that allows submersion of up to 2 meters for 30 minutes, wider stereo speakers, a 120Hz touch-sensing OLED display with HDR10 and Dolby Vision support, and improved AR performance.

Battery life of the iPhone Xs is now claimed to be 30 minutes longer than the iPhone X, while the iPhone Xs Max can last 1.5 hours longer, which is the largest battery size that Apple has ever installed.

On the camera department, Apple has introduced a new dual camera system, while it still takes 12MP wide-angle and telephoto shots with the same f/1.8 and f/2.4 aperture respectively, the sensor size is now larger for better details and comes with an improved True Tone flash.

Apple has specifically highlighted a Smart HDR feature unique to the iPhone Xs, as it uses the neural engine of the A12 Bionic chip to help capture photos clearly against backlight while ensuring details of the subject are captured with great clarity. Portrait Mode has also been improved with Depth Control, which you can adjust the aperture even after taking a photo; video recording is also improved with wider stereo sound recording and improved dynamic range.

Like what we have reported earlier yesterday, the iPhone Xs and Xs Max does come with dual SIM support and in two different solutions. In the US and some other countries, Apple is working with carriers on offering both an eSIM and physical SIM solution, while in China where eSIM still isn’t supported, it uses the conventional dual physical SIM solution which has been present on Android phones.

iPhone Xs and Xs Max will be made available in stores on September 21 with prices starting from $999 and $1099 respectively, storage capacities are available in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB, and it will be available in a new Gold finish apart from the usual Silver finish.
