There have been many signs of Apple moving onto 64-bit apps for its iOS platform. For instance, when opening up a 32-bit app on iOS 10.1 and above, users will receive a warning message stating that the app developer has to update the app to improve its compatibility, a hint for app developers to rewrite their apps in the 64-bit code.
A recent report by Touch Arcade claims that 32-bit apps will not appear in search results in  the app store, another subtle warning by Apple that developers will have to move on to prevent being left out in the near future (hint: iOS 11). Apple’s WWDC will commence later tonight and we’re expecting the Cupertino colossus to unveil iOS 11, which is claimed to 64-bit only.
Chances are the app developers that are still stuck in yesteryear’s 32-bit code will need to act fast as it is likely that Apple will begin pulling the plug on 32-bit support for its iOS platform, leading to the loss of both developers and users. Hiding 32-bit apps from search results on the App Store sounds like a subtle yet drastic move. Thoughts?
