Apple and Qualcomm has been going at each other for quite awhile, but recently the chipset manufacturer managed to win one of their battles. Apple was found to infringe three patents from Qualcomm last Friday, resulting in a $31 million payment.

According to TechCrunch, the three patents are regarding Qualcomm’s “flashless booting, data management between the applications processor and the modem, and high performance rich visual graphics with power management.” These patents are found in the iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and X.

This lawsuit has been filed since July 2017, which means that it has almost been two full years since the companies has been conflict. Cnet also wrote that the outcome will affect the next trial between both tech giants that is set in April, a trial that involves even more money and will be one of the most anticipated trials regarding the whole lawsuit.

The iPhone company also expressed its disappointment with the outcome, though the company refused to comment further and did not reveal if they will be filing an appeal to the decision.
