Okay, breathe people! The AMD Ryzen 4000 ‘Renoir’ series desktop CPUs have been announced! This time around, AMD is introducing the 4000G and 4000GE lineup which means your options include 65W and 35W chips.

As you can see, the 4000GE variants are lower-clocked, more power-efficient models with the same core counts as its 4000G counterparts.
The best of the lot is the Ryzen 4700G with 8 cores and 16 threads, 65W TDP, and max clock of 4.4GHz; there’s no sign of an ‘X’ series yet – these are the ones that are made for overclocking; perhaps AMD will introduce them down the line.
The aforementioned CPU is apparently 5% better at single-thread performance compared to the Intel Core i7-9700, up to 31% better at multi-threaded operations compared to the same chip, and a massive 202% better in graphics performance compared to its Intel counterpart.
The chips will be available on systems from Lenovo and HP starting Q3 this year, but no official pricing has been disclosed yet. We’ll be sure to keep you updated when more information comes.
