Acer’s next@acer event today champions the theme of “Made for Humanity”, which saw the brand launch their Vero lineup of eco-friendly products that are built using recycled materials, and are easily-upgradable to reduce waste. These products include the Aspire Vero and TravelMate Vero laptops.
Aspire Vero
The Acer Aspire Vero (AV 15-51) comes with an EPEAT Silver certification that makes it a proper environmentally-friendly laptop. Its chassis is made with 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, and even the keycaps are made of the same material.
Acer also claims that the laptop is easy to disassemble, repair, and upgrade so you can swap out aging parts to make your computer run like new, instead of heading out to buy a completely new device.
The laptop comes with a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display and can be powered with up to an Intel Core i7-1195G7 CPU. There’s up to 8GB of onboard storage, and it can be upgraded to 16GB via a second memory stick; for storage, you can pack the laptop with up to a 1TB PCIe NVMe drive.
TravelMate Vero
This business-centric laptop offers the same type of build materials and can be packed with up to an Intel Core i7-1195G7 CPU, along with up to 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.
The laptop uses a 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel along with Acer ComfyView support. Being a business laptop, the TravelMate Vero packs a discrete TPM, a Kensington lock, Acer ProShield Plus for data encryption, plus biometric authentication to log users into the pre-installed Windows 11 Pro OS.
The Acer Aspire Vero is priced from USD699.99 (about RM2,911)and will be available this November, while the TravelMate Vero will cost at least USD899.99 (about RM3,743) and will only arrive this January. There’s no word on its local availability and pricing yet, but stay tuned as there will be more updates to come.
