A non-genuine update to Windows 10 will get you a black wallpaper in every hour

Yesterday we reported that Microsoft has decided to allow non-genuine Windows users receive its Windows 10 update which sounds pretty good, however after coming across this report, this doesn’t seem too positive at all, as Microsoft has stated that it doesn’t mean upgrading from a non-genuine software will convert you into a legit one, as such Microsoft still advises users to purchase a genuine copy of its operating system to avoid malware, spyware and etc. In addition, Microsoft will turn your wallpaper into black if it finds you aren’t using a genuine version of Windows – a common trick.

However Microsoft isn’t totally bad at all, non-genuine Windows 10 customers will still receive important security updates from the company and you can easily convert your non-genuine license via the new Windows Store, which should be able to stop that annoying black wallpaper and we highly suggest that you own a genuine copy of Windows 8.1, which starts at RM339 at this time of writing before our GST kicks in.

Over the years, we can see Microsoft being less strict on its licensing system and discouraging users on pirated Windows with a more reasonable way, however with such lenient restrictions, will it allow cracks to be implemented even more easily? Our fingers remains crossed.
