After Samsung’s big Galaxy Note 7 launch, our eyes are now fixed on Apple’s upcoming iPhone 7 and while we have already know a great deal about it, well-connected KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has mentioned in a note to investors and believes that Apple will announce two new Apple Watch versions in the second half of 2016, knowing Apple’s fashion of updating products, the new Apple Watch will still look the same as the current model and Kuo believes that Apple will only release a new form factor for its wearable in 2018.

One of the watch models is expected to be an iterative update over its current model, which sports a better 16nm TSMC processor and better waterproofing, while another version dubbed the “Apple Watch 2” will come with new hardware such as a GPS radio, barometer and a higher capacity battery to power the additional hardware. If this is accurate, we should be expecting the announcement to be made in Apple’s upcoming September event, the current Apple Watch has been due for an update since its debut a year back, meanwhile we shall wait patiently.
