Nothing has officially expanded its audio lineup with the launch of the new Ear (3a), a pair of affordable true wireless earbuds that brings several firsts to the company’s entry-level audio range. While retaining Nothing’s signature transparent design language, the Ear (3a) introduces built-in audio recording, improved active noise cancellation, longer battery life and enhanced sound quality, making it one of the most feature-packed earbuds in its price segment. The new earbuds were launched alongside the Nothing Phone (4b) and are priced at US$99 (€99).
Built for Everyday Listening With Smarter Features
The Nothing Ear (3a) continues the company’s distinctive transparent design while introducing four colour options: Black, White, Pink and the new Yellow finish. The charging case has also been subtly redesigned with a more ergonomic shape and improved LED indicators, while maintaining the compact form factor that Nothing users are familiar with.
One of the biggest additions is Audio Snapshot, a new feature that allows users to record audio directly from the earbuds using a simple pinch gesture. Whether capturing meeting discussions, lectures, voice memos or even snippets of music, recordings are stored in the earbuds’ built-in 32MB internal memory before automatically syncing with the Nothing X app, where they can be played back, edited and transcribed using AI. Users can also record phone calls directly from the earbuds, making the Ear (3a) one of the few consumer earbuds to offer built-in recording functionality.
Improved Sound, Stronger ANC and Longer Battery Life
Nothing has upgraded the Ear (3a) with newly developed 12mm dynamic drivers that deliver deeper bass, richer vocals and better overall balance compared to its predecessor. The earbuds also feature improved Active Noise Cancellation capable of reducing external noise by up to 45dB, allowing users to enjoy music or podcasts with fewer distractions in busy environments.
Battery life has also received a significant boost. The earbuds offer up to 10 hours of playback with ANC disabled, while the charging case extends total listening time to as much as 42 hours. Fast charging support allows users to quickly top up the battery and continue listening with minimal downtime.
Designed for the Nothing Ecosystem
The Ear (3a) integrates seamlessly with the Nothing X app, allowing users to customise equaliser settings, manage recordings, update firmware and personalise touch controls. The earbuds are designed to complement Nothing’s growing ecosystem of smartphones and accessories while remaining compatible with Android and iOS devices.

The Nothing Ear (3a) is available globally in Black, White, Yellow and Pink.
The earbuds are priced at US$99 (€99) and are available through Nothing’s official online store and selected retail partners. At the time of writing, Malaysian pricing and local availability have yet to be announced.
