While we have seen a whole lot of flagship phones way before the year started, nothing beats the anticipation of the imminent announcement of the Galaxy S26 series, although there hasn’t been an official announcement at this time of writing, leaks online has confirmed that we will be seeing the next Galaxy flagship on 25 February 2026, and there’s a lot of things to be excited about.
Starting with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, it is expected to feature a 6.9-inch display with some form of anti-peeping technology, which helps prevent prying eyes when you are using it, the camera department is seeing a big upgrade with a 200MP f/1.4 main camera, alongside a 50MP ultrawide, 50MP 5x Periscope and a 10MP 3x telephoto lens, wired charging speed is also said to be improved from 45W to 60W while retaining the same 5000mAh capacity, while it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip.
As for the vanilla Galaxy S26 and S26+, Samsung isn’t expected to make much changes on the surface but what we can look forward to is the use of the company’s Exynos 2600 chipset on these two phones, as it is built on a 2nm process and promises huge performance gains and efficiency over the previous model.
We also expect Samsung to continue to show off more Galaxy AI capabilities of these new flagships when the time comes, but most importantly, we hope to see its prices remain similar as before, given that memory chips have risen due to market shortage, as most phone manufacturers have resorted to either cost saving or price increase measures.
