HONOR has officially expanded its flagship smartphone portfolio with the launch of the HONOR Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design and the HONOR Magic 8 Pro Air, introducing two premium devices that cater to very different flagship users. The new additions build on the momentum of the Magic 8 series, reinforcing HONORโ€™s push into the ultra-high-end and refined flagship segments with a strong focus on performance, design and imaging.

Positioned at the top of the lineup, the HONOR Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design stands as the brandโ€™s most exclusive smartphone to date. Developed in collaboration with Porsche Design, the device blends automotive-inspired aesthetics with cutting-edge mobile technology. It features a sculpted chassis, precision-cut lines and a premium ceramic finish that reflects Porsche Designโ€™s philosophy of performance and craftsmanship. Despite its luxurious construction, HONOR has refined the design to improve ergonomics, making the Magic 8 RSR more comfortable to hold while maintaining a solid, premium feel.

Powering the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, paired with top-tier memory and storage configurations that go up to 24GB RAM and 1TB of internal storage. This combination positions the device among the most powerful Android smartphones currently available, capable of handling demanding multitasking, gaming and AI workloads with ease. The phone features a large LTPO OLED display with a high refresh rate, advanced brightness control and accurate colour reproduction, delivering a smooth and immersive viewing experience across all usage scenarios.

Imaging is a key highlight of the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design. The device features a flagship-grade triple-camera system led by a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with advanced optical image stabilisation, enabling detailed long-range photography with impressive clarity and stability. This is complemented by a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, supported by HONORโ€™s latest computational photography algorithms, there’s even an optional telephoto zoom kit that’s similar to what vivo and OPPO is doing that will extend the zoom range.

Battery performance is equally uncompromising. The Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design is equipped with a large 7200mAh battery that supports ultra-fast 120W wired and 100W wireless charging, ensuring minimal downtime even for power users. Durability is also a major focus, with the device carrying IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for resistance against dust, water immersion and high-pressure water jets, making it one of the most rugged ultra-premium smartphones on the market.

Alongside the RSR model, HONOR introduced the Magic 8 Pro Air, a slimmer and lighter flagship designed for users who want top-tier performance in a more refined and portable form factor. The Magic 8 Pro Air focuses on balance, offering a sleek profile without compromising on core flagship features. It features a premium OLED display with high peak brightness and smooth refresh rates, making it suitable for everyday productivity, entertainment and outdoor use.

The Magic 8 Pro Air is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9500 chipset optimised for efficiency and sustained performance, paired with a large 5500mAh battery that supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. Despite its slim construction, HONOR has managed to deliver reliable all-day battery life, positioning the Pro Air as a practical flagship for daily use.

The camera system includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 64MP telephoto camera that does 3.2x optical zoom, delivering versatile photography capabilities for everyday shooting, portraits and zoom photography.

In China, pricing for the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design starts from around 7,999 yuan for the 16GB + 512GB model and 8,999 yuan for the 24GB + 1TB variant, while the Magic 8 Pro Air begins at approximately 4,999 yuan (roughly RM2,900) depending on configuration. Global availability and regional pricing have not yet been officially confirmed, but HONORโ€™s expanded lineup reflects its ambition to compete aggressively in both ultra-premium and mainstream flagship segments worldwide.

At this time, HONOR Malaysia hasn’t confirmed if it will be bringing in either devices.
