Synology marked its 25th anniversary today by unveiling the next phase of its mission to safeguard the world’s data. At the Synology Solution Day 2025 event in Malaysia, the company introduced a new portfolio of intelligent backup, enterprise-grade storage, and compliance-ready collaboration tools designed to help organizations enhance cyber resilience and manage the exponential growth of data in the digital era.
According to Thachawan Chinchanakarn, Head of Southeast Asia at Synology, digital transformation remains the biggest driver of data growth across the region. “This strong momentum is fueling greater demand for advanced solutions,” she said. “By 2025, the world will generate 175 zettabytes of data, and within the next decade, that number will exceed 2,100 zettabytes.”
The company’s 2025 Digital Transformation Trend Survey revealed that nearly 90% of Southeast Asian businesses have already invested in digital transformation initiatives, viewing it as a long-term strategy rather than a short-term project. However, 85% remain in the early stages, and while more than half have faced cyberattacks, only one in five organizations are confident in their recovery capabilities.

Building on 25 years of innovation and trust, Synology now powers over 14 million installations, protects 25 million endpoints, and connects 2 million cameras worldwide. The company’s unified data management ecosystem continues to evolve, helping enterprises accelerate their digital transformation securely, efficiently, and sustainably.
“Over the past five years, Synology has doubled its revenue in Malaysia, thanks to the growing trust among enterprises and organizations,” said Jason Sin, Country Manager of Synology Malaysia. “With our expanded product portfolio, Malaysian businesses now have access to more tailored solutions that meet their specific needs across different industries.”
Driven by increasing enterprise adoption, Synology’s business in Malaysia has grown by 130% in the past five years, reflecting its reputation as both a technology leader and a trusted strategic partner in improving operational efficiency and cyber resilience.

Earlier this year, Synology introduced ActiveProtect, a purpose-built backup appliance engineered for enterprise workloads across multiple sites. Designed for diverse deployment scenarios, ActiveProtect offers storage capacities from 8TB to 140TB, delivering immutable backups, air-gap protection, and regulatory compliance support. This ensures enterprises have a reliable defense against ransomware and other modern cyber threats.
At Solution Day 2025, Synology also unveiled its next-generation flagship storage system, the PAS7700, the company’s first all-NVMe enterprise storage platform. Featuring an end-to-end NVMe architecture, it achieves up to 2 million IOPS and 30GB/s throughput with under 1 millisecond latency, setting a new benchmark for speed and efficiency in mission-critical data environments. Its active-active design guarantees high availability, while robust encryption and advanced data protection make it ideal for organizations with demanding performance requirements.
Looking toward the future, Synology is integrating AI-powered features into its Synology Office Suite, transforming how enterprises collaborate and manage content. The upcoming updates will include Optical Character Recognition (OCR), semantic search, AI summarization, and real-time translation. Importantly, these AI tools will be powered by on-premises servers, ensuring that sensitive data remains secure and private — a key differentiator in today’s cloud-first but privacy-conscious business landscape.
“Cyber resilience is now the top priority for IT leaders worldwide,” said Thachawan. “It’s not just about preventing attacks, but ensuring business continuity and competitiveness in an increasingly digital economy. Our latest portfolio reflects Synology’s unwavering commitment to delivering simple, scalable, and secure solutions that protect organizations’ most critical assets while empowering them to thrive in the digital future.”
Celebrating its 25-year legacy, Synology continues to lead the way in intelligent data management — combining innovation, reliability, and enterprise-grade security to help organizations around the world safeguard their data in an era defined by digital transformation and AI-driven growth.
