The Samsung Galaxy S10 series might support reverse wireless charging

As the Galaxy S10 series gets nearer to its launch date, we’re getting more information and leaks, and the latest rumour circles around a feature that was found in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

The Mate 20 Pro came with one unique feature which is its ability to reverse charge wirelessly through direct back-to-back contact with another phone that supports wireless charging. Samsung is reported to be picking this feature up and putting it in the devices in the S10 series.

Rumor has it that Samsung will name their reverse wireless charging “Powershare” but it is worth noting that wireless charging often doesn’t work as quickly as wired charging and it might not be completely practical. Yes, it can be used as an emergency method to charge your other devices that are running out of battery but the process will probably take some time, and you’ll be draining your S10 devices.

Honestly, while this remains a unique feature, it is rather doubtful that Mate 20 Pro users will often employ this feature, and I believe the same will happen to Samsung Galaxy S10 users. Many might try out the feature in the beginning and feel like it’s a really cool feature, but the hype will slowly fade and since so many of us already own at least one power bank, it seems rather unpractical for us to want to charge our devices by draining others’ S10 devices.

This “Powershare” feature is expected to be available on all the S10 devices, including the cheaper model, the Galaxy S10 Lite. With this feature, I’m even more certain that the S10 devices will be costly.
