Apple has officially unveiled the next generation MacBook Air, which finally comes with a Retina Display and an updated design that is in line with the rest of the MacBook family. Unlike the previous generation, it only comes in a 13-inch model, so if you want a smaller machine, you have the MacBook 12 as an alternative.

The MacBook Air sports a third generation Butterfly mechanism keyboard, the Force Touch trackpad has also been increased to 20% larger than its predecessor, Touch ID is present along with the T2 chip that stores your security information and supports Hey Siri.

In terms of ports selection, the new MacBook Air comes with two ThunderBolt 3 ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Weighing at 1.24kg, the MacBook Air comes powered with 8th Gen Intel dual core CPU with integrated graphics, you will be able to configure up to 16GB of RAM and 1.5TB SSD, there’s no discrete graphics and Touch Bar option that makes it a lot more affordable than the MacBook Pro, so its a pretty decent choice if you require power and portability while not needing those features.

Apple will start to ship the MacBook Air on 7th November and has begin sales today, it will retail for $1,199 (RM5,015) with a base configuration of a 1.6GHz Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD. Local pricing will be updated at this spot at a later time.
