Google has finally updated Android Wear to the latest version and it brings a feature that will excite users. The 2.9 update will bring unread notification indicators, a dot with a circle will appear at the bottom of the watch face, to indicate that there are unread notifications.
Google has also mentioned that the notification indicator can be modified by developers using the new Android Wear SDK 2.2.0. Developers are able to change the position of the indicator or even change it from the default indicator to one that shows notification counts. The new SDK will also bring better permission handling and new drawable callbacks that will improve custom developed watch face performance and it comes with an emulator based on Android Oreo.
