The Google Pixel lineup from 2016 still remains very much popular to this date. The Pixel and the Pixel XL were the first two phones unveiled by Google after the company did away with the Nexus branding. Google is expected to refresh its Pixel series later this year with the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2. A new leak suggests that the larger of the two will sport a squeeze feature similar to that of HTC’s recently unveiled Edge Sense technology.

First off, earlier leaks leading till today indicate a similar build material in general when compared to the original Pixel series. The back panel will have a metal design along with a glass portion covering the top third of the panel. However, the rear fingerprint sensor will be located on the metal portion instead. The display on the front is said to be by LG, which means a 18:9 screen aspect ratio, measuring at 6 inches.

Like the previous iteration, the Pixel XL2 will still omit the water resistance feature, something which has been increasingly common as of late. The headphone jack is said to make a departure as well, but a source claims that the phablet will feature a squeeze feature like HTC’s Edge Sense. It will of course carry a different name.

One other thing to note that features such as the bezel-less front and the squeeze tech will only be found on the larger Pixel XL2 to showcase Google’s engineering and cutting edge technology. The Pixel 2 on the other hand will largely retain the design from its predecessor and will be the lower end of both devices.
