When it seemed like all has ended for Yureka, the daughter company of Micromax, the smartphone maker has decided to launch a new smartphone once again. Earlier last month, there were rumors surrounding Yureka being shutdown by Micromax, but it turns out that the company isn’t going anywhere for now.

Yureka has launched an entry level smartphone this time round, called the Yu Yunique. The Yu Yunique marks nearly a year since Yureka last unveiled a smartphone. For starters, the Yu Yunique sports a 5-inch display in HD resolution, which is decent given its smaller screen size. Underneath the hood is a MediaTek MT6737 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.

The Yu Yunique features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter, both of which should get the job done for users with decent expectations. The 2,500mAh battery packed by the phone sound just about right on paper as well. However, the handset still uses the old micro USB port for charging instead of USB Type-C. On the other hand, the Android Nougat software that will run out of the box is definitely a welcome feature.

The Yu Yunique will only be available in India through its online FlipKart store. The phone carries a really affordable price tag of Rs. 5,999 (RM398.47), which explains the entry level specs.
