WhatsApp is in the progress of adding support for multiple devices, meaning that you’ll never have to log out of one device to log in to another device ever again.
WhatsApp is great; we’re not denying that, but it is troublesome when we have a few devices and can’t access the app simultaneously. The new multiple device support will soon solve the problem, allowing us to communicate seamlessly with our friends and family on our phones and tablets.

According to WABetaInfo, the receiving end will also be notified when the other party switches their device due to the change in encryption keys. This applies to both iOS and Android. Sadly, there’s still no WhatsApp for iPadOS.
Apart from that, WhatsApp also planned on introducing a feature called Expiring Messages. It’s similar to what you can find on Telegram, in which the messages are deleted automatically after a period of time.
