Somehow when it comes to technology, there’s bound to be a brand copying another. The most recent one would be Xiaomi’s Mimoji that is similar to — well, you can already guess — Apple’s Memoji.
First of all, let’s not use the word “copy” because apparently, the Chinese company is threatening to sue those who call them a copycat without evidence. So, Xiaomi is following the footsteps of Apple with its Mimoji by not only bringing resemblance to its characters and facial expressions but also its name. Seriously, it’s just replacing the ‘e’ with an ‘i’.
While Samsung’s AR Emoji was slightly too creepy for some of us, Apple’s Memoji was a great feature that iOS users love. It was first introduced back in 2017 with the launch of iPhone X, and with the latest iOS 13, Memoji has gotten more features to allow better accuracy of creating your own characters.
Mimoji has already been around for awhile; the only difference is that while it’s previously all animals, it now has human characters. This new version of Mimoji available with Xiaomi’s new series, the CC9 phones.
