Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro launched in China

Xiaomi has just launched the Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro, the brand’s newest flagship tablets.

Both tablets sport the same 11-inch TrueTone 120Hz display those outputs at 2560×1600 resolution. The display also supports HDR10, Dolby Vision and anti-blue light protection.

What sets the two devices apart are the two different chipsets they use – the Mi Pad 5 uses a Snapdragon 860, while the Mi Pad 5 Pro packs a Snapdragon 870. The latter also has WiFi 6 support and Bluetooth 5.1.

Powering the Mi Pad 5 is an 8,720mnAh battery, while the Mi Pad 5 Pro comes with an 8,600mAh battery. The tablets support up to 33W and 67W of fast charging respectively.

When it comes to features, both tablets support a stylus that has a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a short charge time of just 18 minutes. Both tabs support Dolby Atmos audio, but the Mi Pad 5 takes the cake with a quad-speaker setup.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 is priced at RMB1,999 (about RM1,303) for the 6GB+128GB model, and RMB 2,299 (about RM1,499) for the 6GB+256GB version; the Mi Pad 5 Pro will set you back RMB2,499 (about RM1,629) for the 6GB+128GB model, RMB2,799 (about RM1,825)  for the 8GB+256GB version, and RMB3,499 (about RM2,281) for the 8GB+256+5G model.

There’s no word on its official Malaysian availability and pricing yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated when more information comes.
