Xiaomi recently launched the Mi A2, their second generation stock Android devices that were made on a collaboration with Google. However, during the launch, they announced the prices in Euro and said that the phones will come at a later date to Asia Pacific. Knowing Malaysia smartphone sellers, they already brought in the phones and you can get them now.
By just doing a quick search on Lazada, we found that there were multiple shops selling both the Mi A2 and the Mi A2 Lite, both for below RM1000. However, there are a few things to note if you are planning to buy from these sellers. The first being that these phones might not come with the official warranty, but rather a shop warranty, and second they are international sets so the time for these devices to get an update might vary from the local devices that Xiaomi Malaysia offers. If you don’t mind all the points that were mentioned, the Mi A2 Lite 4GB RAM and 64GB storage can be purchased for as low as RM779, while the Mi A2 4GB RAM and 32GB storage can be bought for as low as RM869.
If you are willing to wait, Xiaomi Malaysia will be launching these phones very soon, and in a recent product posting leak from Lazada, which has now been removed, told us that the Mi A2 6GB RAM 128GB storage will retail for RM1,199, which tells us that the lower spec variants could very well be priced below RM1000.
