Xiaomi sets the bar high with its 40W wireless charging technology

Wireless charging used to have a weakness when compared to wired charging — slow charging speeds. That’s no longer the case as brands try to speed up their wireless charging technology; Xiaomi recently demonstrated 40W wireless charging in a time-lapse video.

In the video below, it took only 40 minutes for Xiaomi to fully charge its phone via wireless charging. That is comparable to HUAWEI’s 40W SuperCharge that requires wired connection. The phone that was in the demonstration is also a phone with a 4,000mAh battery.

It’s uncertain when Xiaomi will bring this 40W wireless charging to the market, but since the Mi 10 Pro already comes with 30W wireless charging support, we’ve no doubt that 40W charging will happen very soon. On the other hand, there is still no news regarding the 100W wired charging that was shown off by Xiaomi last year.

The fastest charging speed on the market right now is the Oppo Reno Ace’s 65W SuperVOOC 2.0. It won’t be long before wireless chargers achieve similar speeds.set th
