Apple’s CarPlay will be getting support for a new app and it’s an app that is widely used by all of us. WhatsApp is not supported on CarPlay following the latest WhatsApp update.
The messaging app now shows up as an app on CarPlay when you connect your iPhone to the supported players but it works just like the other messaging apps due to Apple’s rules on messaging apps for CarPlay. The app will now display a badge icon when you have messages and you can even ask Siri to read out the messages received, or send new messages using your voice. The only downside to WhatsApp on CarPlay comparing to iMessage is that you will not be able to scroll through the messages.
If you have a head unit that supports CarPlay, then you can update the WhatsApp app now and try out this new feature the next time you go for a ride.
