The Redmi K50 series is confirmed to release next month as teased by Redmi on their official Weibo. Although the definite release date was not revealed, the company was generous enough to feed us some specs until the series’ debut next month.
As expected, the Redmi K50 series will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, along with a 4,700mAh battery that supports a whopping 120W of fast charging which the company claims can reach 100% (from 0%) in just 17 minutes.
The series will also feature a Double Vapour Chamber Cooling System for efficient heat dissipation as the company challenges to be the “coldest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphone.”
According to leakster Digital Chat Station, there will be four variants in total for the upcoming Redmi series — K50, K50 Gaming Edition, K50 Pro, and K50 Pro+, with all variants featuring different SoCs; likely being:
- K50 – Snapdragon 870
- K50 Gaming Edition – Dimensity 9000
- K50 Pro – Dimensity 7000
- K50 Pro+ – Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
Apart from that, a render of the Redmi K50 Pro has been spotted onto the internet. If proven to be true, the Pro variant will sport a triple-camera setup and a punch-hole cutout selfie camera.
Reports say the camera setup consists of a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP or 8MP macro lens. Moreover, the phone might feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display that pushes a 120Hz refresh rate.
Details about the other variants are currently still unknown but we’ll be sure to update you once we get more information, so stay tuned.
