Twitter has been working hard to introduce new features to its social media platform and to enhance the user experience. A while back, Twitter integrated streaming platform Periscope into its app, after acquiring the company behind it. Now Twitter has welcomed a new take on its 140 character limit to Tweets that will change the way you Tweet from today onwards.
From now on, when you reply to someone, the person’s username won’t be counted within Twitter’s 140 character limit. This means that you will have a little extra character space whenever you reply someone via a Tweet. Conversations have also been simplified in a couple of ways. Since usernames won’t be counted in Tweets anymore, they will appear above the Tweet instead of in it, meaning that the person you’re replying to will appear above. Moreover, you can tap on the “Replying to…” button to control who’s part of your conversation.
That’s basically it, but these new updates will certainly ease up on the communication process on Twitter. Being able to squeeze in a few more words will definitely make a big difference for Twitter users in the long run. What do you think?
