We’re not sure what the deal is with fitness wearable manufacturer Fitbit, as it has bought over yet another company this time. An attempt to monopolize the market? Fitbit has officially acquired smartwatch maker Vector Watch, according to a blog post by the latter company.
Known for its beautifully designed smart timepieces such as the circular Vector Luna and the more rectangular designed Vector Meridian, with an impressive 30-days battery life, Vector Watch will be joining the Fitbit family, whom has bought over fellow smartwatch manufacturer Pebble. The new combo will hopefully develop new features, software and products together.
Vector Watch has stated that Vector Watches will still function as usual, including their functions, features and mobile platform compatibility. Also, Vector Watch products and their accessories can still be purchase via Vector Watch’s network of retailers worldwide. Warranty and return policies for its products still remain the same. However, the company has highlighted that new product features in terms of both hardware and software will not be added. There will be no sight of new Vector Watch products as well, due to the acquisition by Fitbit.
It looks like Vector Watch will be contributing to the development of new products and software for Fitbit, together with Pebble.
