At this point of writing, we are struggling with Xiaomi’s live stream over in India and as rumors have suggested, the company has announced the Mi4i, and if you think the ‘i’ on the back is an upgrade, the phone in fact has a couple of pluses and minuses from the original Mi 4, however in terms of design, the phone now shares the very same unibody design as the Mi Note.

Despite of that, the hardware is still pretty good such as the great Sharp/JDI manufactured Full HD (1920×1080) display with a 178 degree viewing angle, a ‘sunlight display’ that enables great visibility under harsh sunlight yet having 30% of power efficiency compared to other displays.

The phone’s main camera is a Sony/Samsung manufactured 13-megapixel shooter with a f/2.0 aperture while the front camera is a 5-megapixel f/1.8 optics, which is a downgrade from the original Mi4’s 13-megapixel f/1.8 and 8-megapixel f/1.8 camera setup.

Performance is managed by a 2nd generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 that features 64-bit performance and a 4+4 core setup – 1.7GHz+1.1GHz, it has 2GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of flash storage with no storage expansion, the phone will support the fastest wireless standards with Dual SIM 4G standby and will have a 3120mAh battery to juice the phone up.

The Mi4i will be available at 30 April 2015 in India and retails at the price of Rs.12,999 (RM750), which is pretty affordable for a mid-range device like this and we should expect to reach our shores shortly.
