The Kampung Bharu Ramadhan bazaar goes cashless thanks to the Touch ‘n Go eWallet

How do modernize something as traditional as Ramadhan bazaars? Touch ‘n Go’s (TnG) answer is by making these festive food markets go cashless.

You may be familiar with TnG’s fintech offering, the Touch ‘n Go eWallet, which lets you load your TnG card via your phone. Now, the company is reinvigorating the humble bazaar by implementing the same eWallet at one of the city’s most popular bazaars at Kampung Bharu.

The #Rayasempoi campaign aims to not only bring fintech to the forefront this Ramadhan, but also to introduce zero food wastage and no plastic movements during this festive season.

Customers with a TnG eWallet will have 400 stalls to choose from and buy their goods by simply scanning a QR code placed at each merchant’s stall. There will also be activities happening throughout the campaign and users can enjoy cashbacks worth a total of RM1,000,000.

The bazaar is located right smack in the middle of the age-old township and can be reached by the Kampung Bharu LRT station. You can visit the food market from 3pm to 6pm daily until 31 May.
