The ASUS ZenFone 3 might look prettier than you think

The ASUS ZenFone 2 was unveiled a little over a year ago, packing pretty impressive specs for an attractive and seemingly low price point. Being the world’s first smartphone with 4GB of RAM, the device certainly raised many eyebrows in the consumer market. It is powered by an Intel Atom Z3580 processor, which some modder’s have taken into their own hands to run desktop versions of Windows. But that’s a story for another day, if not already told.

Red Dot 21, a site known to give awards to tech products based on their design, have displayed an alleged ASUS ZenFone 3 and a Deluxe variant of it online. An image of the supposed handset lineup is also being displayed and together with the description, they don’t seem any bit as dodgy as the usual leak sites or Chinese online phone shops where regular rumors originate from.

However, the description, which is under the “About” segment, seems more long winded than detailed, making it seem like how OEM’s will describe their products, which tells us that the entry was submitted by none other than ASUS. Not many specs were revealed, but according to the description, the ASUS ZenFone 3 series will be sporting 2.5D glass on both front and rear sides, surrounded by an aluminium frame. USB Type-C will be making its way into the smartphones, with fast charging support, including a rear fingerprint sensor. As for the camera, the selfie shooter will be equipped with a front flash. The rear camera will come with laser auto focus. An optional Smart Flip Cover will be available as an accessory for the ASUS ZenFone 3.

That’s as far as we know about the ASUS ZenFone 3 series, also hoping that it’s official and not an outdated April Fool’s Joke. What do you think about the “revealed” specs so far? Tell us your thoughts!
