Amazon to reveal new Kindle next week

Amazon’s premier e-reader will be getting a new iteration soon as Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has stated in a tweet that the company will be revealing a new Kindle next week.

Described as being “top-of-the-line”, the 8th Generation Kindle is expected to replace the two-year-old Kindle Voyage as the company’s flagship e-reader. Seeing as the current Kindle Voyage is priced at USD 200, it wouldn’t be surprising that the new Kindle would be priced at around the same range.

That said, the announcement of a new flagship Kindle means that the more affordable version of the Kindle, the Paperwhite, will probably be unaffected by the new announcements. As for the device itself, no specifications have been leaked yet, but judging by what the Voyage has, we expect the new Kindle to feature some minor improvements over the Voyage.
