Gamers looking to buy a gaming laptop can ready their wallets, as ASUS Malaysia has finally brought in the updated 2022 models of the popular ROG Strix SCAR gaming laptops in 15-inch and 17-inch models, and all variants will be powered by the Intel Core i9-12900H processor, DDR5 memory and up to NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3080Ti Laptop GPU.
Apart from getting updated performance internals, the Strix SCAR laptops got several notable upgrades such a Quad HD display with up to 240Hz refresh rate and having support for Dolby Vision HDR, upgraded quad speaker system with Dolby Atmos support, improved connectivity options such as Thunderbolt 4, WiFi 6E and 2.5GBe LAN.
Unfortunately, there is still no built-in webcam on these new laptops.
The 2022 ROG Strix SCAR laptops are expected to boast 15% improved graphics performance and 43% on certain game titles over their predecessors, the 15-inch and 17-inch models will come in both RTX 3070Ti and RTX 3080Ti graphics variants that support up to 150W of power and supports MUX switch, a feature that allows gamers to disable the integrated graphics and have only the discrete graphics power the display.
On top of that, cooling has also been improved with new 84-blade Arc Flow Fans that uses variable thickness fan blades to improve air flow while reducing turbulence and noise, the 2022 Strix SCAR laptops continue to use Thermal Grizzly’s Liquid Cooling solution for both the CPU and GPU like their predecessors.
The 2022 ROG Strix SCAR laptops can be preordered in Malaysia with retailers PC Image, Notebook Plaza, Brightstar Computer, TMT and EIT Store, they are expected to be made available on March 2022 with the following price and specs:
