iOS 8 is releasing later in the day and if you’ve been longing for a custom keyboard, you’ll be glad that Swype is the first custom keyboard to be up in the App Store at a price of only 99 cents. Swype will work similarly to its Android counterpart, which will allow you swipe across the keys to get your words out and with the company’s next word prediction technology, texting on the iOS devices gets even better and we believe there will be lesser auto-correct issues once the app learns your typing habits. The only thing though is that Swype will not have Cloud dictionary synchronization at this time of launch and will be available in a later update.

How will you be able to switch to a a third party keyboard like Swype on iOS? You simply install the keyboard from the App Store, and it will appear as an app icon on your springboard, tap on it and do the necessary set ups, go into a text typing app, hold on to the globe button as if you switch languages and you’ll find Swype showing up, it’s that simple. We should be seeing more awesome keyboards coming up in iOS 8 such as Swiftkey, TouchPal and many other familiar Android keyboards so do hit on the update button on your iOS devices once iOS 8 becomes available if you want to switch over from Apple’s keyboard.
