Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will have no microtransactions and multiplayer says EA

If you’re familiar with giants Electronic Arts, you’d know that they’ve been under intense flack from gamers for the past two years – mostly due to their profits-first business mentality. Newer EA titles such as Star Wars: Battlefront II, Battlefield V, and FIFA share the same poison – microtransactions.

The issue has gotten so big – thanks to public outrage and hilarious memes – that EA themselves have taken heed of their consumers distrust in the brand. It’s gotten to the point that the company had to tell the public, in an interview, that their upcoming game won’t have microtransactions. We suppose this is to instil some semblance trust in their consumers in hopes that their tainted reputation won’t bomb sales figures too much.

The game in question here is the newly-announced Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – a game that, according to EA, will be a fully single-player experience with absolutely no microtransactions in any form or fashion. Developed by Respawn Entertainment – the same folks behind Titanfall and the very popular Apex Legends – the new Star Wars game looks promising.

Early trailers had been released on YouTube and it looks to follow a similar plot theme as the new Star Wars reboot films – the Jedi at the brink of extinction, the First Order dictatorship, Force wielder discovers their powers, lightsaber duels and massive explosions – you get the gist.

In the trailers however, it seems like the protagonist, Cal Kestis, is aware of his Jedi powers, and is a survivor of Order 66. He refrains from using it – suggesting that the First Order has assumed complete control and all Force wielders would be killed. A story that takes place right after Episode III and Order 66 hasn’t really been done in video games before so it’ll be interesting to see if Respawn can breathe life back in to the Star Wards franchise.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is set to launch on November 15 and will be available for PC via Origin, as well as Xbox One and PlayStation 4. We are very excited.
