With Android 7.0 Nougat now available for Nexus users, Android developers can now join in the Nougat fun as Google has released the source code for Nougat today!
The release of the Android 7.0 Nougat source code means that developers are now able to update their apps to support Google’s latest version of the Android Operating System. Indeed, the team at CynogenMod has been busy working on integrating Nougat into CyanogenMod 14.0 on the Nexus 5X. Outside of CyanogenMod, it is expected that other third-party ROMs will be available in the coming weeks, so if you can’t wait for your phone manufacturer to come out with their own version of Nougat, you can always opt to flash your phone.
For those who prefer the ‘legit’ route, you’re going to have to remain patient. While we do know that the first Nougat-powered phone will be the LG V20, we don’t know anything about when manufacturer-skinned Android Nougats will be available.
