Sony SRS-NS7 wireless neckband speakers launched: Supports Dolby Atmos, and 12-hour battery life

Sony has introduced their iteration of a wireless neckband speaker in the SRS-NS7 and the brand claims that it is the first of its kind to support Dolby Atmos.

The SRS-NS7 will need a WLA-NS7 wireless transmitter to work – the device is supplied in the box; however, to properly make use of its Dolby Atmos feature, Sony says you’ll need for a BRAVIA XR TV as well.

To use it, simply connect the transmitter to the TV via an optical and USB cable, then pair the SRS-NS7 with the transmitter via Bluetooth.

You can personalize your audio experience via the Sound Personalizer app on your smartphone too.

Under the hood are a set of X-Balanced Speaker Unit audio drivers that help increase sound pressure and reduces distortion for clearer audio output. The device uses upward-firing speakers and passive radiators to deliver audio right to your ear.

In terms of battery life, the SRS-NS7 is able to provide 12 hours of listening time, or up to 5 hours with the volume set at maximum. On top of that, the device charges via USB-C and can give you one hour of listening time with a short, 10-minute charge.

In terms of design, the speakers have a fabric surface finish, and a silicone neckband, along with IPX4 splash-proof rating.

The Sony SRS-NS7 is priced at USD300 (about RM1,255), and will be available in the region this November. Stay tuned on our website for more updates regarding the product’s availability and local pricing.
