Sonos’s latest offering is an ultra-portable smart speaker that is portable, light and connects via Bluetooth/Wi-Fi. The Sonos Roam is priced at RM1,099 and will be available starting April 21.
Sonos Roam can connect easily via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when you’re out of your house and its Wi-Fi range, the speaker automatically switches to Bluetooth to pair with your smartphone. Sonos also introduced a new featured called Sound Swap and it basically lets users switch from speaker to speaker by holding the play/pause button.
You get a built-in mic + TruePlay technology
If you get two Sonos speakers, you can turn them into stereo speakers; they also work with over 100 streaming services which can be easily controlled using the Sonos app. You’ll also get a built-in mic with this speaker, but it’s mainly used for voice assistants and/or Sonos’s own TruePlay technology that auto-adjusts sound according to your environment.
Charge it wirelessly, or not
Battery-wise, this smart speaker can last you up to 10 hours and charges wirelessly with any compatible Qi-certified chargers. You can also use a USB-C cable to charge it, which is faster compared to the wireless method. As it also comes with an IP67, the Sonos Roam can withstand water up to 1m for 30 minutes.
