Siri has just got an upgrade which comes in time for the release of Apple’s HomePod. The new update will allow Siri to playback a podcast when asking it for the news, similar to what Google Assistant and Alexa can already do.
In the latest beta version of iOS 11.2.5, there is an option to get the news from multiple sources like Fox News, NRP or CNN with more selections to come in future updates. With this update, we possibly could ask for the news on any device with Siri enabled devices like CarPlay and the upcoming HomePod. There is an issue where you can’t select the type of news to hear when using it with Siri which might be a deal breaker for a lot of people as they will still have to resort to using their phones or computers to select the type of news or podcast to listen.
