Dell has upgraded their XPS 13 laptop with the latest 8th Gen Intel Core processor back in October 2017 and now, they are redesigning the laptop to give it an even slimmer profile by cutting it down to 11.6mm at the back and 7.8mm on the front.
Just like the previous generation, it comes with an InfinityEdge display with smaller bezels on the sides and top, giving it an 80.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. The webcam is still placed at the bottom of the screen but it is position in the centre, better position compared to the previous model which was position on the bottom left. As for the display, customers can now choose between a FHD screen or a 4K display which supports touch input. The 4K panel will support 100 percent of the sRGB colour spectrum but the FHD will support only 72 percent. The new XPS 13 will come with either a Core i5-8250U or a Core i7-8550U but it does not come with a graphics chip. However, users can plug in an external graphics card using one of the two Thunderbolt 3 ports on the side.
Dell claims that it will offer a battery life of up to 19 hours and 46 minutes for the FHD variant and 11 hours and 12 minutes on the 4K variant. The new Dell XPS 13 has been released but it still has not made its way to our shores. The base model will be priced at $999.99 (RM4009.61), but Dell is offering an Ubuntu version for $949.99 (RM3809.13).
