Shell Lubricants Malaysia has teamed up with Waze the most popular traffic and navigation app to launch Asia’s first accident-prone spots alerts to make the roads safer for drivers this coming Ramadan and Aidilfitri season. From May 16 till July 15 2017, an alert from Shell Helix will pop up on Waze to remind drivers to be careful when approaching the 50 accident-prone spots across Peninsular Malaysia, based on data submitted by Waze users, the message will only appear when the users car is stationary to avoid distracting the user.
During the pre-peak travel period, Shell will also be running a special oil change promotion for Waze users that watched its Aidilfitri video on YouTube or Facebook, where a code will flash on screen and on the Waze app giving users a RM30 discount on oil change at participating Shell Helix branded workshops and Shell Retail stations’ Lubebay service outlets.
In 2014, Shell launched the flagship Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology fully synthetic motor oil which is the first and only motor oil to feature the revolutionary gas-to-liquid technology that converts natural gas into an ultra-clean base oil. This allows the company to deliver higher levels of cleansing and protection, keeping your engine closer to an engine right out of the factory. In addition to that, it will also remove sludge left behind by inferior oils and provides wear and corrosion protection, extending the life and reducing the maintenance cost of the engine.
Shell Helix also unveiled Malaysia’s first engine warranty program, the Shell Helix Engine Warranty (S.H.E.W) last year which covers the cost of repair or replacement of 15 engine components that may fail if its proven that Shell motor oils fails to provide lubrication and protection. The program is given to all personal passenger vehicles that are registered in Malaysia and is below eight years old, recently Shell has increased the eligibility to cars with mileage of 150,000 KM or below.
