The Android One program has now made its stop at Japan with the announcement of the Sharp 507SH smartphone, this isn’t some typical Android smartphone with a MediaTek SoC, but a rather unique one that comes with a capless IPx5 water and dust resistant design and a 3010mAh battery that could last up to three days, the 507SH is coming soon exclusively to Japan’s telco Y! Mobile.

In terms of hardware design, the 507SH looks like an everyday entry-level device with a plastic body and somehow thick bezels, the phone has a 5-inch 720p IGZO LCD display, an Okutakoa ARM processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory with MicroSD expansion, a 13-megapixel main camera, VoLTE support and available in colors of bright blue, black and white. Since this is an Android One device, the 507SH should come with monthly security updates and a major OS update within 18 months of a phone’s release, Android Marshmallow should also come preloaded out of the box as well.

The phone is expected to reach Y! Mobile late July this year, so do keep a look out our Japan readers!
