Say goodbye to the Charms menu in Windows 9

We guess many of you who uses a Windows 8 or 8.1 laptop today don’t have an idea on what a charms menu is on Windows, it is a side bar that easily allow touch screen users access the Start screen, settings, share and search content. According to multiple sources, Microsoft is rumoured to introduce a whole new Start Menu and windowed “Metro-style” apps while killing off the charms bar. Don’t be too sad though, the charms bar isn’t totally gone but it will still be available in Metro apps and only if developers choose to enable the feature.

Of course, Microsoft isn’t killing off something off without introducing something new – virtual desktops. This new feature will bring much joy to Windows users who have been hoping to multitask in multiple desktops just like Mac OS users, which the current method of multitasking is either buying a high resolution monitor or extending desktops to multiple monitors.
Well, at least Microsoft is listening to users now and this further proves that the design of Mac OS is inspiring Microsoft a lot in improving its desktop operating system. We don’t hate Microsoft for doing that but seriously, they could’ve thought of something better instead of ripping of a similar idea that is already there for many years. We really hope we are wrong commenting about it and look forward to the release of Windows 9 later this year.
