First teased back at Computex, AMD’s entry into the mainstream graphics market, the RX 480, is finally here. Today, Sapphire is announcing that they will be releasing the 8GB vesion of the RX 480 starting from today.
So what can you expect out of the 8GB RX 480? Well, for one, this card comes with 2,304 stream procesors with the engine clocked at 1126MHz. The 8GB of GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit wide bus clocked at up to 2,000MHz means that the RX 480 is not only futureproof, it is also capable of premium VR experiences at low power.
The technology breakthrough of FinFET and the low power consumption that comes with it means that the SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 480 offers a new standard of power efficiency and work culture while still leaving a solid headroom for overclocking. The AMD-designed blower cooling remains quite and dissipates the heat outside of the computer’s chassis.
As the RX 480 is a Polaris-based card, it comes with a slew of display engine advancements such as High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology. The RX 480 will also support HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort 1.4 to enable support for the lastest monitors. It also features hardware encoding/decoding for 4K recording using H.265 codec up to 60 FPS, making high-quality streaming and gameplay recordings possible without any performance drawbacks.
The Sapphire RX 480 is now available at selected SAPPHIRE retailers and retailers worldwide.
