Samsung promoted their device through an iPhone…again.

Remember earlier this month when Samsung made a blunder and tweet-promoted the Samsung Galaxy Note 9’s Super AMOLED display using an iPhone? Well it happened again, but this time instead of the Samsung Nigeria’s Twitter account, it’s the Samsung India’s Twitter account.

The mistake was spotted by the same tech reviewer who spotted the previous mistake, Marques Brownlee and the tweet was posted on 12 December. The Samsung account tweeted about the Galaxy A9’s ultra wide camera, including two beautiful pictures but sadly, the bottom right of the post wrote”via Twitter for iPhone”.

As expected, when Samsung came to realisation of their mistake, the tweet was removed immediately but even then, damage has been done with Brownlee screenshooting the tweet and responding to it. This ongoing trend of Samsung promoting their devices using iPhones can be easily justified; it could be the marketing agency that is not directly under Samsung that is tweeting the promotional posts, which is why it’s possible that they’re not using Samsung devices. However, the past mistakes should’ve been a lesson learnt, and Samsung should’ve been more strict and careful when it comes to social media posting, especially when Twitter shows the device you’re tweeting from.

Of course, this is no grave mistake for it’s just another way people can make fun of Samsung and their contradictions. Unlike the recent incident where Samsung used a photographer’s DSLR picture to promote the A8s’ camera capabilities, the tweet is simply a minor matter. It is noteworthy that Samsung has been getting a lot of heat lately, with the photo manipulation incident and also the Supreme incident where the company chose to collaborate with a “legal fake” brand known as Supreme Italia. One thing for sure is Samsung needs to be more cautious and thoughtful when it comes to their decisions, be it posting a tweet or doing a collaboration.
