Although Samsung is well-known for their Galaxy S and Note series of phones, they have the J and A series that covers that mid-range and budget categories. However, it looks like the company is killing off the J-series in a recent report.

The company will put a focus on their A-series which will cover the mid-range and budget price points. Other than that, the company has mentioned that they will introduce the Galaxy M-series that will replace the Galaxy On series. The M-series will cover the budget segment to compete with Chinese brands, as it might be an online-exclusive phone. Lastly, DJ Koh, CEO of Samsung has stated that they are changing how the company presents their phones to the public by introducing new tech into their Galaxy A series first before bringing it to their flagship models.

Samsung hopes that with this new strategy, they will be able to take back the market share from countries like India, Latin American and China which are currently dominated by cheaper phones from the major Chinese companies.
