It looks like the plan, or rather the rumored plan of selling refurbished Galaxy Note 7 handsets will not be happening, at least according to Samsung India. The latest report by the folks at Gadget 360 states that the earlier claim happens to be false.
According to Gadget 360, a Samsung India representative has made a statement whereby the report on Samsung’s plans to sell refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphones in India is incorrect. The report that was being referred to is most likely the one by South Korean news outlet Han Kyung a day ago, which suggests that Samsung will be selling refurbished Galaxy Note 7 units for emerging markets, highlighting India and Vietnams as potentials.
Samsung stopped the production of its ill-fated phablet last year, after fire incidents persisted throughout its replacement units, eventually forcing a global recall, plus remote deactivation of the Galaxy Note 7 handsets which where officially rendered unsafe. The refurbished units of the phablet is said to pack a smaller battery at 3,200mAh, claimed to be safer for use.
