The Mi MAX, not to be mixed up with Xiaomi’s concept flagship the Mi MIX, is said to have a sequel in the coming months. The huge 6.44-inch mid range phablet was launched last year, with its Snapdragon 650 processor performing only at a sub par standard. Xiaomi tried to switch it up with a Snapdragon 652 in a Mi MAX Prime variant which was only available to the Indian market. The Chinese manufacturer is rumored to fit a new better performing chipset underneath the hood of the Mi MAX 2 later this year.

The processor in the rumor play is the Snapdragon 660, which is said to feature a Kryo CPU, like the flagship Snapdragon 820 chip. If that happens to be true, we will be looking at a snappier performing Mi MAX this time round. On top of that, the upcoming phablet is tipped to pack up to 6GB of RAM, plus a huge 5,000mAh battery, which are also a bump up from the current Mi MAX’s specs.

All the upgrades definitely will come with a price increase, and the rumored price tag of the Mi MAX 2 is significantly higher than its predecessor, at 2,000 CNY (RM1,294.71). Would you give the Mi MAX 2 a chance when it launches in the coming months?
